Itinerant: Journal of Migration, Labor and Society

Itinerant: Journal of Migration, Labor and Society is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal devoted to the study of human migration and its relations with labor markets, social structures, and public policy. The word itinerant describes one who travels from place to place, often in the context of work or livelihood, and was chosen to reflect the journal's commitment to centering the lived trajectories of mobile populations rather than treating migration solely as a policy or statistical phenomenon. The journal takes an interdisciplinary approach, drawing on sociology, economics, law, demography, political science, and geography to examine migration as a phenomenon shaped by structural conditions, institutional frameworks, and individual circumstance.

Itinerant considers original research articles, review articles, and policy studies. All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review by referees with expertise in migration studies and related disciplines. The journal is published three times per year, with issues appearing in April, August, and December.
